Certificates

Since 1999, Mennica Polska S.A. has been using the management system confirmed by the certification body of TÜV Thüringen. In December 2003, it was for the first time certified as an integrated system. In 2006, the integrated management system was extended to activities related to electronic payments. Relationships between management and auxiliary processes existing in the Mint and implementation processes related to these activities were adjusted.

The certification body TÜV CERT- TÜV Thüringen confirmed that Mennica Polska S.A. introduced and applies the integrated management system for:

production and design of minted products as well as an electronic payment systems and services associated with the above.

The integrated management system includes:

Adjusting activities to legal regulations and limiting the impact on the environment are important elements of environmental management. The Mint has its own sevage treatment plant operating for internal purposes and providing services to other entities. The Mint offers services involving neutralization of:

  • sewage containing cyanides,
  • sewage containing chromium compounds,
  • acid and alkaline sewage.

The Mint obtained the integrated permit for the sewage treatment plant systems, required by the law. Usage of substances and waste management are monitored, and control measurement of emissions are carried out. A majority of waste generated by the Company (as recycled materials) are reused by specialized companies. This ensures effectiveness of environmental outlays. This process is supported with communal waste segregation, which in general reduces operating costs of the Company.

The policy of Mennica Polska S.A. regarding not only traditional values of mintage, but also focusing the Company on the development of technologies, improvement of the offer for customers, and innovation in the core mintage business, as well as electronic payments. Special attention is also given to development and safety of employees.
