Piotr Sendecki

Piotr Sendecki has graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. In 1981 – 1990 he was a research worker and a teacher at the Institute of Theory of State and Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. In 1984 – 1988 he went through a legal training in the Lawyer’s Chamber in Lublin ended with an attorney’s exam in 1988. In 1991 – a scholarship holder of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Government, an intern of the Canadian Department of Finance in the Division of Privatization in Ottawa. In 1996 – 1998 a professional internship in the Netherlands organized by the Netherland Helsinki Committee and the Netherland Bar Association – Internship Programme on the Rule of Law, Democracy and Human Rights. He has been a participant and co-organizer of many conferences on law, both national and international (participation in conferences of the International Bar Association – Section on Business Law - Prague 1991; Paris 1995; Durban 2003; Lisbon 2005). Coordinator of ELENA/ECRE in Poland (1997-2002) – participation in seminars in Strasbourg, Paris, Dublin and Prague. Attorney’s training: 1989-1991 – a Member of Bar Association No 10 in Lublin; 1991 – 2002 – Attorney’s Office  - P. Sendecki; since 2002 – a managing partner in “Adwokacka Spółka Partnerska – P. Sendecki i K. Drozd – adwokaci – sp. p.” in Lublin. The attorney’s training covered legal service for companies and legal help for individual persons. Specialization in the area of civil, trade, financial, family (property issues) and criminal law (mainly issues connected with economic and financial crimes) as well as international protection of human rights (representing clients in cases brought to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg). In 1992-2001 a Member of the Presidium – the Treasurer and Training Manager of the District Bar Council in Lublin, and since 2007 – the Doyen of the District Bar Council in Lublin. In 2001 – 2004, 2004 – 2007 and from 2007 till 2010 – a Member of the Chief Bar Council in Warsaw. In 2001-2007 a Member of the Presidium of the Chief Bar Council – Treasurer (responsible for financial and property issues of the bar), and then a Vice-President of the Chief Bar Council. Since 2003 – the President of the Committee for Human Rights at the Chief Bar Council. He is an author of works on human rights protection, theoretical-legal issues, issues of the attorney’s self-government activity and journalism. A member of journalists committees and program councils (Polish Legal Review, the European Law Foundation). Since 2007 – a mediator of the Arbitration Court at the Polish Olympic Committee.
Since June 2nd, 2006 a Member of the Supervisory Board of Mennica Polska S.A., elected to be a Vice-President of the Supervisory Board.
