The Polish People's Republic 1945 - 1989

Because it was impossible to recover the pre-war, universal collection, the new collection was limited to products of the Warsaw Mint- from its foundation in the period of Stanisław August Poniatowski up to the present day. Reopening of the Numismatic Cabinet to the general public, took place in the new Mint headquarters, on Pareca Street, on April 28, 1956. In the following year, medals from the State Mint were presented on the World Contemporary Medal Exposition in Vienna. Since that moment, Numismatic Cabinet continuously participates in the expositions, presenting its collection on permanent exposition /see: Permanent Exposition/, as well as on the temporary expositions in Poland and abroad.
