In September 1939, during the intensive bombing of the Warsaw district of Praga, the National Mint, since 1924 having its seat at 18 Markowska Street, was partly destroyed.

A decree under which the “Harvesting Woman” image was to be replaced with “Constitution” on a 5 zloty coin.

The coin is considered one of the most beautiful coins of the interwar period.
