Social engagement of Mennica Polska S.A.
We do not limit our activities strictly to business area.
We bring help to those who need it through specialized organizations acting for children, the sick and the disabled. We support, among others, The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy), UNICEF, Federation of The Friends of Children (Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Dzieci), Polish Association of the Blind (Polski Związek Niewidomych), “Food-the gift of the heart” foundation, “Sanus” disabled foundation and Polish Red Cross. Every month the group of our employees remits part of their remuneration to the SOS Foundation. We support programs implemented by the Foundation in aid of helping the children of Polish origin from the Belarusian Grodno area. We help financially a few foster care centers, a family foster home and a special school for the disabled children.
We transfer, free of charge, our products to be used as prizes for the finalists of “Onko-Olimpiada” sports games and the World Cup tournaments in Kiliński’s Sabre wheelchair fencing competition.
We support the educational initiatives. We are the founders of the awards for the laureates of the Poland and the modern world knowledge contest, economic knowledge contest and the European Union knowledge contest.
Occasionally, we participate in cultural undertakings as well. In the year 2008 we supported organization of the Iwona Borowicka national operetta and musical music performance competition in Cracow as well as celebrating of the 80th anniversary of the “Ateneum” theater in Warsaw.
We do not support financially individual people in a direct way as a charity activity (except justified cases concerning the employees of the Company), political undertakings, commercial law entities or profit-raising projects.
The financial assistance applications, which are verified by the authorized employee, are recognized by Management Board of Mennica Polska S.A., which selects the potential beneficiaries and establishes the amount and the form of help granted.
