About the Municipal Card System
The Mint of Poland is a modern company with many years’ traditions, its beginnings dating back to 1766. It is well-known as a producer of coins and medals.
Enjoying the position of the leader in the area of traditional money production and viewing its ongoing development as part of its mission, The Mint of Poland has been active in strengthening its position on the market of electronic money since 2001. This was the background for the creation of the Electronic Payments Division.
We focus our activities on the market of municipal services, and especially services related to public transport. To face the constantly changing market requirements and cater for the needs of our Customers in 2006 we launched our own “Software House”. We have developed our own innovative products – the Municipal Card System™ as well as GOLD™. We have also been developing our independent electronic services sales network.
The successful implementation of the Municipal Card System™ (in Jaworzno, Lublin, Radomsko, Suwałki and Warsaw) is a testimony to the considerable expertise of The Mint of Poland in the area of electronic cards and state-of-the-art IT solutions, and give the company the position of one of the market leaders enjoying great renown.
The Municipal Card System™ is a state-of-the-art IT system which facilitates supervision of and control over the functioning of municipal services as well as their management in accordance with the needs and expectations of a particular city.
