A medal commemorating the Great Pontificate of John Paul II is the only one presenting the official papal coat of arms struck in Poland with the consent of the Apostolic Nunciature in Poland.
Each medal comes in a beige velvet case. The case includes the certificate of authenticity and some space for an inscription and greetings for a child. The silver medal, struck by the Mint of Poland using the pad printing technique, will be a personal memento bringing back the memories of important family events and celebrations years later.
Obverse:
The official papal coat of arms, signature of Pope John Paul II. Inscription along the rim: WIELKI PONTYFIKAT 1978-2005 (THE GREAT PONTIFICATE 1978-2005)
Reverse:
An image of Pope John Paul II embracing children. Below the symbol of the Mint: m/w, grade of silver: Ag 500 and the designer’s initials. Inscription along the rim: POZWÓLCIE DZIECIOM PRZYCHODZIĆ DO MNIE (LET THE CHILDREN COME TO ME).
The oldest known seal bearing the image of this coat of arms dates back to the year 1319. This is when Adam de Kamion, in Kraków, produced a document under a seal with the image of the Jastrzębiec family’s coat of arms.
A unique and exceptional gift for the christening day or the day of First Communion for a girl.
